Cello / Music Composition Lessons

For the past 15+ years, I have been working from my home studio, in the beautiful Mount Pleasant neighbourhood of Vancouver, BC, Canada, offering private lessons in Cello, Music Composition, and Music Theory.  As someone who holds a MMus degree, and is a nationally award-winning composer, and an Associate of the Canadian Music Centre, I offer very reasonable rates, and a flexible teaching approach.  I enjoy teaching students of all ages and backgrounds, and my students benefit from a flexible teaching approach, tailored to their goals.  In addition to cello technique, I also incorporate some basic theory for my beginner students– especially for those who have limited or no previous musical background. This would include learning to read standard music notation, rhythms, etc.

Most of my students have weekly lessons– which is recommended.  For the past couple of years, I have been doing most of my teaching online, though I am going back to offering the option of in-person lessons at my home studio too, for local (Vancouver-based) students. I currently have online students from across the country.
